Alef Group Launches ‘Threads of Connection’ Art Initiative in Sharjah

Post by : Bianca Haleem

SHARJAH: Alef Group, one of Sharjah’s leading real estate developers, has introduced a new public art initiative called ‘Threads of Connection’, aimed at encouraging creativity, strengthening community ties, and creating meaningful conversations through art.

As part of the initiative, the company has opened submissions for artists from the UAE and across the wider region. Selected participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a specially curated public art exhibition at Al Mamsha, Sharjah’s premier lifestyle destination.

Open Call for Emerging and Established Artists

The initiative is open to both emerging and established artists, giving creatives from different backgrounds an opportunity to present their original work. Artists are invited to submit pieces across various visual art disciplines, including sculpture and installation art.

The theme, ‘Threads of Connection’, encourages artists to explore the relationships that bring together people, cultures, communities, and shared experiences. Through their creative interpretations, participating artists will contribute to a collective story that highlights the diversity and vibrancy of contemporary cultural expression.

Al Mamsha Expands Its Cultural Experience

As Sharjah’s first fully walkable community, Al Mamsha continues to expand beyond its residential and retail offerings by introducing cultural experiences that enrich everyday life. Through this latest initiative, the destination aims to provide artists with a platform to connect with residents and visitors while further establishing itself as a place where creativity, people, and public spaces come together.

Alef Group Highlights Commitment to Creativity

Commenting on the initiative, Alef Group said that great destinations are shaped not only by their physical spaces but also by the experiences they offer and the communities they help build.

The company stated, “At Alef, we believe that great destinations are defined not only by the spaces they offer but also by the experiences they create and the communities they bring together. Through 'Threads of Connection', we are providing artists with a platform to engage with the public in meaningful ways. The initiative reflects our commitment to empowering artistic talent, enriching Sharjah's cultural landscape, and positioning Al Mamsha as a destination that connects people through shared experiences.”

Supporting Sharjah’s Cultural Vision

According to Alef Group, the initiative reflects its broader vision of developing integrated destinations that go beyond traditional residential and retail concepts by promoting culture, creativity, and social interaction.

The project also reinforces Sharjah’s established position as a regional centre for arts and culture by creating new opportunities for artists to display their work in an accessible public setting while encouraging greater engagement between art and the community.
