Major Apple Leak Reveals Plans for Foldable iPhone and AirTag 2 by 2026

Post by : Saif Al-Najjar

An extensive leak has provided insights into Apple's future product lineup. Information sourced from an early build of iOS 26 indicates that Apple is preparing an array of new devices, including a foldable iPhone, AirTag 2, updated Macs, new iPads, and home gadgets, all anticipated by 2026.

This information originated from a prototype device running an early version of iOS 26, shared with researchers shortly after the first developer beta release. Technology site MacRumors reported that the data included internal codenames and product categories, shedding light on Apple’s long-term hardware direction. As of now, Apple has not confirmed these details.

Foldable iPhone on the Horizon

Among the notable revelations is confirmation of Apple’s plans for a foldable iPhone. Identified by an internal codename, this device is expected to debut post-2026. With competitors already offering foldable models, Apple’s entry into this sphere could significantly influence the smartphone landscape. Specific design or feature details remain undisclosed, but the listing confirms Apple's active development of the product.

Upcoming AirTag 2 and Smart Home Expansion

The leak also indicates that Apple is working on the second generation of AirTag, known internally as AirTag 2, expected to launch in 2026. While detailed features were not disclosed, enhancements in tracking precision and security improvements are anticipated.

Moreover, Apple seems set to broaden its smart home offerings with new devices, including an updated Apple TV, two home hub variants, and the HomePod mini 2. This move signifies Apple's commitment to enhancing its smart home ecosystem, ensuring tighter integration among TVs, audio devices, and home controls.

New iPads and Display Innovations

The leak also highlights Apple’s tablet plans. The company appears to be developing a new standard iPad alongside refreshed iPad Air models, both powered by the M4 chip. Available in 11-inch and 13-inch options, these will cater to both Wi-Fi and cellular users.

Additionally, a new Apple Studio Display 2 could arrive by 2026, aimed at professionals utilizing Macs for creative and technical purposes.

Mac Updates with New Chips

The roadmap reveals a strong emphasis on advancements in Mac computers. A budget-friendly MacBook powered by the A18 Pro chip is on the drawing board, alongside new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models equipped with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips.

Desktop models including the Mac mini and Mac Studio are also projected to leverage advanced M5 and M5 Ultra chips, suggesting that Apple aims to further enhance performance across its Mac range.

Wearables and Mixed Reality Innovations

Multiple new wearable devices are indicated in the leak, including the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Additionally, Apple is reportedly developing a second-generation Vision Pro headset, a more lightweight Vision Air model, and AI-integrated smart glasses.

These developments reflect Apple's growing interests in mixed reality and artificial intelligence, highlighting a potential shift in how technology integrates into daily life.

Implications of This Leak

While product plans can vary and timelines may shift, this leak underscores Apple’s ambitions. The company seems poised for significant updates across nearly all categories, from smartphones and tablets to computers, wearables, and smart home devices.

If a portion of this extensive lineup materializes by 2026, Apple users might witness one of the most substantial rolls of new devices in the company's history. Until confirmed, this leak offers an intriguing glimpse into Apple's potential future developments.
