Bahrain's National Guard Commander, His Highness General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, met with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Islamabad to discuss military cooperation and exchange views on regional developments.
The high-level meeting reflected the close relationship between Bahrain and Pakistan and highlighted efforts by both countries to strengthen their strategic defence partnership through greater coordination and cooperation.
During the meeting, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of Bahrain's Armed Forces, and from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.
The visit underscored the importance Bahrain places on its longstanding ties with Pakistan and the continued engagement between the two countries' military institutions.
Brigadier Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Training at the National Guard, also attended the discussions.
According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa highlighted the strong relationship between Bahrain and Pakistan and praised the steady progress achieved in military cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
He stressed the importance of building upon existing ties to further strengthen the strategic defence partnership between the two nations.
The two sides reviewed opportunities to enhance cooperation and coordination between Bahrain's National Guard and the Pakistan Army. Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in areas that support shared interests and contribute to closer defence relations.
In addition to defence cooperation, the officials exchanged views on regional and international developments.
Particular attention was given to the evolving situation in the Middle East and other issues affecting regional stability. While details of the discussions were not disclosed, both sides used the meeting to share perspectives on current developments and matters of mutual concern.
