In the lead-up to the Johor state election, Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Mohd Yusla Ismail has committed to advancing essential long-term development projects if re-elected for the Senggarang state seat. His campaign promises revolve around increasing affordable housing options for young couples and tapping into the local tourism sector to foster economic sustainability.
During a community engagement event in Batu Pahat, Yusla noted that these initiatives are a continuation of his development strategy initiated during his previous term. He emphasized that these projects are aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents while promoting community expansion.
Enhancing Affordable Housing Opportunities
Yusla highlighted that an essential focus is on assisting young individuals in achieving homeownership via the Johor Affordable Housing (RMMJ) programme. He stated that eligible applicants will benefit from an improved online application process, making it easier for first-time buyers to own homes.
He mentioned that several promising locations in Senggarang have been earmarked for future RMMJ developments. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial pressure experienced by newlyweds and young families who currently rely on renting or living with relatives.
BN's Commitment to Senggarang's Growth
As part of his agenda, Mohd Yusla Ismail has committed to advancing affordable housing through the Johor Affordable Housing (RMMJ) programme, alongside promoting tourism in various coastal hotspots. His campaign also includes improving necessary public infrastructure, bolstering local enterprises, and creating additional job opportunities for residents.
Supporting Young Families Through Housing Initiatives
The proposed housing initiatives are geared towards facilitating home purchases for young families via the RMMJ scheme. Yusla explained that digital solutions will streamline the application process, enabling more eligible residents to secure stable housing and lower their long-term living expenses.
Three-Way Contest for Senggarang
The Senggarang state seat will host a three-way contest in the upcoming Johor state election, with Mohd Yusla Ismail from Barisan Nasional facing off against Onn Abu Bakar from Pakatan Harapan and Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon from Perikatan Nasional.
Voting is set for July 11, with early voting occurring on July 7. All candidates are actively campaigning across the constituency, aiming to share their development plans with voters.
Focus on Local Development Plans
As election day approaches, candidates are emphasizing regional projects designed to elevate living standards and stimulate economic growth. Topics such as housing affordability, tourism development and public infrastructure upgrades are expected to significantly influence voter preferences during the Johor state election.
