Cainiao, a global smart logistics company, has expanded its international services by launching a new express delivery network in the Gulf countries—United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. This new service allows e-commerce companies to deliver products across these six countries in as little as three days.
With this move, Cainiao becomes the first Chinese logistics company to build a unified express delivery system in the Middle East. This region is growing rapidly in online shopping and economic activity, making it a great place for global logistics and e-commerce. Reports show that the Middle East e-commerce market is set to reach $50 billion by 2025, showing steady growth from 2020.
Cainiao is using its network of over 200 countries to offer both air and land shipping options. Air shipping delivers packages between countries in just three days, while ground shipping can reach any city within 6 to 8 days. What’s even better is that the shipping cost is very affordable, around $1 less per kilogram than the market average—almost the price of a coffee.
William Xiong, Senior Vice President at Cainiao, said that building a smart global express network is a big part of their mission, and the Middle East is an important region for their future. He added that Cainiao will continue to grow its global network, listen to local needs, and improve cross-border delivery services.
