Firefighting teams from Oman’s Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) are working hard to control a fire that broke out among several trees in the Wadi Al Abyad area of Nizwa, located in the Al Dakhiliya Governorate. The fire was first reported on Thursday afternoon, and emergency teams were quickly sent to the scene to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby areas.
According to the CDAA, emergency response units were dispatched as soon as the fire was reported. Upon arrival, firefighters found a cluster of trees engulfed in flames. The CDAA confirmed that multiple firefighting units were deployed with water tankers and specialized equipment to bring the situation under control. Their main focus was to stop the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation and property.
Firefighters have been working tirelessly under challenging conditions to contain the blaze. The dry conditions in the area, along with occasional winds, have made the task more difficult. Despite these challenges, the teams remain determined to extinguish the flames completely. The CDAA confirmed that the fire has not spread to residential zones and that nearby communities remain safe for now.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties linked to the fire. The CDAA has stated that their teams are prioritizing safety, ensuring that all personnel operate under proper safety measures. Authorities have also urged residents to stay away from the area while operations continue, to allow emergency teams to work efficiently.
As of the latest update, CDAA teams continue to monitor the area to prevent any re-ignition of flames. The Authority confirmed that operations are ongoing and will continue until the site is declared completely safe. Firefighters are also using controlled cooling techniques to ensure that remaining embers do not spark a new fire.
The Wadi Al Abyad area is known for its rich natural vegetation and scenic landscapes, making this fire a matter of serious concern. The CDAA teams are not only focusing on extinguishing the blaze but also taking measures to protect the surrounding greenery and wildlife. The authority emphasized that preserving natural habitats is one of their main priorities during such incidents.
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority has once again reminded the public to take extra care, especially in dry and windy weather. People are advised not to light fires near trees, farms, or open spaces, as even small flames can quickly spread in such conditions. The CDAA continues to stress the importance of public cooperation in reporting fires early to help prevent major damage.
This is not the first time CDAA teams have dealt with wildfires in mountainous or forested regions of Oman. Their rapid response and coordination have helped control similar fires in the past. Their experience and preparedness play a vital role in minimizing the damage caused by such incidents.
The CDAA reaffirmed its dedication to protecting people, property, and the environment. They praised the hard work and courage of the firefighting teams who have been battling the blaze for hours under intense heat and smoke. The authority also thanked the local community for their patience and cooperation during the emergency response efforts.
Once the fire is fully contained, local authorities are expected to assess the damage and plan recovery steps to restore affected areas. The CDAA, along with environmental agencies, will likely evaluate how to prevent future fires in the region. Preventive measures may include awareness campaigns, early warning systems, and better monitoring of vulnerable areas during dry seasons.
Residents and local officials hope the fire will soon be completely extinguished. The dedication of Oman’s firefighting teams continues to be a source of pride for the nation, reflecting their skill and readiness to protect communities and nature from harm.
