95 Airbus Jets Ordered by Chinese Airlines for $17.8 Billion

Three major airlines in China have revealed intentions to acquire 95 Airbus jets, featuring the A350 and A320neo models, as part of their fleet expansion and enhancement strategy.

The revelation was made public by Air China, Shenzhen Airlines, and Hainan Airlines in their official filings to the Shanghai Stock Exchange dated July 17. When taking into account the standard prices, the total value of these agreements stands around $17.8 billion.

Air China and Shenzhen Airlines Top the Order List

Air China and its affiliate Shenzhen Airlines lead the orders with a collective acquisition of 55 Airbus jets, with an approximate list-price valuation of $12.4 billion.

In accordance with their agreement, Air China will take delivery of 15 Airbus A350-900 widebody planes, while Shenzhen Airlines plans to add 40 A320neo-family narrowbody jets.

Hainan Airlines Seals Deal for 40 A320neo Models

In a separate arrangement, Hainan Airlines has committed to purchasing 40 Airbus A320neo-family jets, with a list-price valuation reaching up to $5.4 billion.

These jets are earmarked for delivery within the years 2028 to 2032.

Commitment to Fleet Growth and Upgrades

These aircraft acquisitions illustrate the airlines' commitment to enhancing their operational capacity while transitioning to newer Airbus models, which include both widebody and narrowbody formats to meet future demands.
