Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), one of the world’s major aircraft leasing companies, announced that it has successfully delivered all ten Boeing 737-9 aircraft to United Airlines. These deliveries were part of a previously agreed sale-and-leaseback arrangement between the two companies. The completion of this transaction marks an important milestone for both DAE and United, showing confidence, cooperation, and smooth coordination between the teams involved.
DAE Chief Executive Officer Firoz Tarapore expressed his appreciation for United Airlines’ trust throughout the process. He explained that the entire deal was completed quickly, taking only six months from the moment the documents were signed until the final aircraft was delivered. According to him, this fast and efficient completion highlights the strong teamwork of both organizations and their ability to manage large and complex aviation transactions. Tarapore stated that the partnership worked smoothly because both sides showed strong efficiency and flexibility.
He added that DAE is pleased to provide United Airlines with these ten modern, fuel-saving Boeing 737-9 aircraft. These airplanes belong to Boeing’s new generation of aircraft that offer better performance and improved fuel use, helping airlines lower their operating costs. By supplying these aircraft, DAE is supporting United Airlines’ plans to expand and upgrade its fleet. Tarapore said that DAE looks forward to continuing its cooperation with United and building an even stronger working relationship in the future.
DAE has a large and growing presence in the global aviation industry. The company currently owns, manages, or has committed to owning a total of 236 Boeing aircraft. Out of these, 119 belong to the Boeing 737 MAX family, which includes the 737-8 and 737-9 models. This shows DAE’s long-term commitment to investing in next-generation aircraft that offer improved safety, technology, and sustainability. The Boeing 737 MAX family is widely used by airlines around the world for its fuel efficiency, reliability, and suitability for short- and medium-haul routes.
The completion of this sale-and-leaseback agreement is also a sign of the recovery and growth of the global aviation sector. Airlines are working to modernize their fleets after the challenges faced in recent years, and leasing companies like DAE are playing a major role in helping them achieve this. For United Airlines, adding these jets strengthens its network and gives it more flexibility to serve growing passenger demand across domestic and international routes.
A sale-and-leaseback deal is a common financial arrangement in the aviation industry. It allows airlines to sell an aircraft to a leasing company and then lease it back for long-term use. This helps airlines free up capital while still keeping the aircraft in their fleet. With this agreement, United Airlines secured new aircraft without carrying the full ownership cost, while DAE expanded its leasing portfolio with reliable partner airlines.
This latest achievement also reflects DAE’s expanding global portfolio and its commitment to delivering high-quality services. The company continues to invest in modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to support the aviation sector’s shift toward more sustainable operations. As environmental concerns grow, airlines increasingly prefer aircraft that use less fuel and produce fewer emissions, making the Boeing 737-9 a strong choice.
The delivery of all ten aircraft under this agreement highlights the strong collaboration between DAE and United Airlines. It also reinforces DAE’s reputation as a trusted and capable leader in the aircraft leasing market. With its large fleet, strategic investments, and long-term partnerships, DAE is well-positioned to support airlines around the world as they continue to grow.
