Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh and helmed by Aditya Dhar, continues to shatter box office records even six weeks post its release on December 5. The spy thriller has amassed an astounding Rs 871.9 crore solely in the domestic box office.
As of January 17, it was reported that Dhurandhar had earned Rs 869.8 crore over its first 42 days, with an additional Rs 2.1 crore on day 43. Its consistent daily collection has been characterized as a robust and commanding performance, dominating screens nationwide and beyond.
The film’s earnings illustrate its audience appeal, with weekly collections of Rs 218 crore in the first week, Rs 261.5 crore in the second, Rs 189.3 crore in the third, Rs 115.7 crore in the fourth, Rs 56.35 crore in the fifth, and Rs 28.95 crore in the sixth week, emphasizing its remarkable staying power.
Industry professionals have lauded the cast, particularly noting Ranveer Singh's skillful and subtle performance. One prominent figure remarked on his ability to express profound emotions while portraying a secret agent longing for home, making his performance truly exceptional.
The gripping narrative draws inspiration from significant real events, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and Operation Lyari.
