DIEZ and VOLT UAE have embarked on a collaborative effort to establish a cutting-edge AI-optimized data centre in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). This initiative is set to elevate Dubai's status as a leading center for digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The revelation came during a gathering featuring key figures such as Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, Han de Groot, CEO of VOLT, Koenraad Crooijmans from VOLT, and Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Cluster at Schneider Electric.
The future facility will span approximately 60,000 square meters and will be executed in two phases. The initial phase will provide 29 MW of operational capacity, with plans for an additional 100 MW in the subsequent phase.
Engineered to accommodate advanced AI and high-performance computing, the data centre will incorporate robust infrastructure, reinforced architecture, redundant systems, and heightened security measures to guarantee uninterrupted services and optimal reliability.
Under this partnership, DIEZ is tasked with supplying land and foundational infrastructure, while VOLT UAE oversees development, financing, construction, leasing, and operational management of the site.
Schneider Electric, headquartered in Dubai Silicon Oasis, will contribute state-of-the-art electrical systems, smart infrastructure, and power distribution solutions, thereby boosting efficiency, sustainability, and overall performance.
The officials emphasized that this project is in alignment with Dubai's D33 economic strategy and bolsters the AED 11 billion District IO development, aimed at advancing future technologies, innovation, and research in the area.
DIEZ noted that this collaboration underscores robust global investor faith in Dubai's digital landscape and its forward-thinking economic framework.
VOLT UAE referred to the data centre as an "AI factory," set to convert energy into computing power necessary for extensive artificial intelligence initiatives.
Schneider Electric remarked that this venture aims to establish new international benchmarks for AI-optimized data centres through its comprehensive solutions ranging from power systems to cooling and monitoring technologies.
This undertaking underscores Dubai's dedication to establishing top-tier digital infrastructure to meet the surging demand for artificial intelligence and advanced computing technologies in the region.
