Global logistics company DP World has appointed Ahmad Yousef Al-Hassan as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). In his new role, he will oversee the company’s integrated operations across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other Upper Gulf markets.
Al-Hassan will be responsible for leading strategy and performance across a broad portfolio that includes ports and terminals, economic zones, logistics services and digital trade technology. His main focus will be strengthening end-to-end supply chains and delivering integrated logistics solutions to make trade simpler, faster and more reliable for customers across the region.
Commenting on his appointment, Al-Hassan said global trade is becoming more interconnected and complex, and the company’s priority is to ensure cargo moves safely and efficiently for customers.
He also confirmed that DP World is closely monitoring developments in the Arabian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the company has implemented enhanced safety and security measures while continuing normal operations.
Al-Hassan stated that Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port, including its container and general cargo terminals, remains fully operational. DP World is also working closely with UAE authorities, shipping lines, logistics partners and other ports in the country to minimise any disruption and maintain the smooth flow of cargo.
The leadership change comes after His Excellency Abdulla Bin Damithan was appointed Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) in February 2026. The move aims to strengthen strategic coordination across Dubai’s trade, ports and logistics ecosystem.
Al-Hassan brings more than 23 years of international experience in logistics, treasury, real estate and banking. Before this appointment, he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of DP World GCC from 2021 to 2026.
Since joining DP World in 2010, he has held several senior leadership positions, including roles in Group Treasury and Business Development, Deputy CFO at London Gateway in the UK, and CFO for DP World’s Asia Pacific region in Hong Kong.
In addition to his executive role, Al-Hassan currently serves on the boards of several companies in the UAE and Oman. He has also previously held board positions in DP World business units in South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
