Post by : Shakul

Former Minister of Health Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba is making his return to politics, aiming for the Pasir Raja state seat in the upcoming 16th Johor State Election. His bid has garnered attention as he seeks to reclaim the position he held for two terms.

Confirmed Three-Way Contest

The Pasir Raja constituency will experience a three-way battle involving candidates from Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Harapan (PH), and Perikatan Nasional (PN). Dr. Adham Baba represents BN, while Mohd Fakharuddin Moslim stands for PH, and Yuhanita Yunan is the PN candidate.

Successful Nomination Announced

Returning Officer Nurul Aishah Mohamadon confirmed the qualified candidates at the nomination center in Kota Tinggi. All three contenders have fulfilled the necessary election criteria and will vie for the state seat.

Veteran Political Figure

Dr. Adham Baba served as the Pasir Raja assemblyman from 2008 to 2018 before securing the Tenggara parliamentary seat in the 2018 General Election. His extensive experience in both state and national politics is poised to make this contest one of the most anticipated in Johor.

Campaign Season Underway

With nominations now complete, political parties are gearing up for vigorous campaigns across the region, emphasizing local development, public services, and economic matters as they seek voter support ahead of the election.

Polling Dates Announced

The Election Commission has set early voting for July 7, with the main polling day to take place on July 11. The results in Pasir Raja are anticipated to shape the broader political climate in Johor.
