Dubai Unveils AI+ Program to Enhance Skills of 50,000 Civil Servants

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai has launched the AI Workforce Transformation Program (AI+), an extensive initiative aimed at preparing 50,000 government employees for the future of artificial intelligence. This program is designed to enable the effective use of AI in daily operations and enhance public service delivery.

Collaborating with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, the program is part of the Dubai Future Foundation's vision, encouraging a digital transformation across government sectors.

Aiming for an AI-Enabled Government Ecosystem

The AI+ initiative seeks to improve AI literacy among governmental staff, providing them with the skills to utilize AI tools effectively. This will aid in enhancing efficiency, decision-making, and the delivery of advanced public services.

Crafted with structured, role-specific learning paths, the program aspires to cultivate a workforce adept at designing data-driven government solutions that effectively meet citizen demands.

Visionary Leadership Boosting the Initiative

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, noted that employees are shifting from being mere technology users to active contributors in developing smart services. This initiative underlines Dubai's shift towards an intelligence-oriented government consistent with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Director General of DGHR, H.E. Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, remarked on the importance of investing in forward-looking skills like AI to enhance government effectiveness and innovation.

H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, stated that the program enhances Dubai’s AI landscape by applying advanced technologies to produce impactful government solutions.

Specialized Training Paths for Diverse Roles

The AI+ program provides tailored training pathways for various government roles:

  • Leadership Track: Emphasis on AI strategy, global best practices, and policy dialogues

  • Chief AI Officers Track: Practical workshops for implementing Dubai’s AI framework

  • Products & Services Track: Comprehensive support from idea generation to AI application

  • Managers Track: AI integration in teams, process streamlining, and resource optimization

  • Employee Track: Hands-on AI skills such as prompt engineering, automation, and productivity enhancements

Emphasizing Dubai’s Digital Future

By empowering employees with relevant AI capabilities, the program aims to enhance productivity, improve institutional performance, and pave the way for innovation in government services, solidifying Dubai’s status as a frontrunner in digital governance and AI evolution.
