Enhancing Cultural Links Between Dubai and Sweden

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, convened with Fredrik Florén to deliberate on enhancing collaboration between Dubai and Sweden in areas such as culture, education, music, design, and innovation within the creative economy.

During their discussions, Sheikha Latifa emphasized the flourishing relationship between the UAE and Sweden, commending Sweden’s investment in cultural and creative sectors. She expressed that both nations share a mutual goal: to foster a robust creative economy and inspire innovation through cultural initiatives.

Sheikha Latifa affirmed that culture is key to facilitating dialogue and fostering valuable connections among individuals and communities. She asserted that the UAE-Sweden collaboration symbolizes a shared dedication to nurturing creative sectors that champion innovation, knowledge sharing, and fresh concepts.

She further remarked that Dubai is committed to enhancing its cultural landscape through global partnerships, creating avenues for artists and creatives while promoting synergistic collaboration across various disciplines, and ensuring sustainable creative industries moving forward.

Guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikha Latifa noted that Dubai's cultural evolution positions the emirate as a centerpiece for global culture and creativity through investments in talent and cultural exchanges.

The meeting was joined by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Saeed Al Eter, among other dignitaries.

Ambassador Fredrik Florén expressed appreciation for the strong ties connecting the UAE and Sweden, underscoring the necessity of sustained cultural dialogue and partnership in furthering creativity and innovation.

He also acknowledged Dubai’s swiftly evolving cultural environment and its instrumental role in fostering creativity, attracting international talent, and bolstering its status as a premier cultural destination.
