Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Supreme Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, the Establishment has donated AED 20 million to the “Edge of Life” campaign.
The campaign was launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It aims to raise at least AED 1 billion to support global efforts to fight childhood hunger and save five million children from malnutrition.
Inspired by Humanitarian Vision
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed said the campaign reflects the humanitarian vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He added that helping underprivileged communities and ensuring children have access to proper nutrition is a key priority.
He said that giving and kindness are important values in the UAE’s national identity. The campaign, he noted, marks a major step in global efforts to fight child hunger through partnerships with leading international organisations.
A Noble Humanitarian Initiative
His Excellency Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, described the campaign as a noble initiative.
He said the Establishment’s AED 20 million contribution shows its strong commitment to supporting all Ramadan humanitarian campaigns launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. He stressed that childhood hunger is an urgent global issue that needs immediate and joint action.
