New Aviation Consumer Protection Directive Launched in Dubai

New Aviation Consumer Protection Directive Launched in Dubai

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has unveiled a new Aviation Consumer Welfare Directive aimed at reinforcing the rights of air passengers throughout Dubai's aviation landscape. This initiative incorporates a specialized service to bolster interaction between travelers, airlines, and licensed travel agents.

The directive serves as a defined regulatory guideline, clarifying the rights afforded to passengers and delineating the obligations of airlines and travel assistants. It sets up a structured procedure for managing complaints, with the DCAA positioned as a neutral arbitrator ensuring fairness and transparency in accordance with global standards.

Passengers are now empowered to submit complaints and provide feedback easily through the official DCAA website. This system also allows users to monitor their requests, enhancing transparency and significantly improving the passenger experience.

H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, DCAA's Director General, stated that this launch epitomizes the authority's dedication to bolstering passenger rights and elevating Dubai's aviation industry. He mentioned that the initiative seeks to enhance service quality and instill greater confidence among travelers.

The DCAA has urged passengers to peruse the directive and utilize the new service to better grasp their rights, ultimately facilitating a more pleasant travel experience. Furthermore, airlines and licensed travel agents are encouraged to endorse this initiative and help raise awareness, fostering a more effective and trustworthy aviation framework in Dubai.
