Dubai Islamic Centres Report Over 4,900 Training Hours in Early 2026

Post by : Bianca Haleem

In a significant achievement, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai has successfully delivered educational programs through its community centres during the first quarter of 2026.

The primary centres involved are the Al Mizhar Cultural Islamic Centre, Umm Al Sheif Cultural Islamic Centre, and the Nad Al Sheba Women’s Centre.

Throughout the first three months of the year, these centres provided more than 4,900 hours of training and held over 2,830 academic lessons. Additionally, 104 Quran circles were arranged, emphasizing the commitment to Islamic education, particularly for women and girls.

Regular Quranic sessions were also conducted, leading to 12 complete Quran recitations (Khatmas), underscoring the structured nature of the educational programs tailored for various age groups.

To enhance educational quality, 14 new teaching methodologies were introduced, significantly improving participant outcomes and their overall learning experience.

The centres experienced high community involvement, receiving over 500 new registration applications. In addition to the educational initiatives, 24 community activities were organized, yielding a total of 137 service hours and working towards the reinforcement of community ties and shared values.

Sheikha Sultan Al Mulla, the Director of the Islamic Knowledge Programs Administration, noted that these accomplishments showcase the department’s effectiveness in tailoring programs that address the specific needs of women and girls. Communication with participants has been vital in building rapport and enhancing program standards.

Furthermore, she elaborated that these efforts align with the department’s “Closer to the Community” strategy, merging both physical and online learning to leave a meaningful educational impact while enriching quality of life and stability within families in society.
