Dubai to Host 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 Tomorrow

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 in Dubai, under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

This summit is recognized as the largest assembly for the content creator economy globally. Organized by the UAE Government Media Office, it will unfold over three days across Emirates Towers, DIFC, and the Museum of the Future. The guiding theme this year is “Content for Good.”

Over 30,000 attendees are expected, including 15,000 content creators and influencers from both Arab nations and the international scene. More than 500 speakers, representing an audience of 3.5 billion followers, alongside 150 CEOs and global experts, will be present.

The event will feature more than 580 sessions, comprising keynote speeches, workshops, roundtables, fireside chats, and debates, all focused on three main areas: Economy, Content, and Technology. These discussions aim to delve into the evolution of digital media, investment opportunities, innovation, and responsible content practices.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, commented on how the summit illustrates the UAE’s burgeoning role as a nexus for media and content. He emphasized that the event has transformed perceptions regarding how digital media can foster community engagement and create genuine social impact through positive and significant content.

Notable Focus Areas of the Summit

This year's summit emphasizes two primary areas:

1. Content for Good:

The summit has collaborated with MrBeast, the world’s leading YouTuber, to introduce the “1 Billion Acts of Kindness” initiative, supported by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Varkey Foundation.
During the event, 10 global creators will be revealed to steer this campaign alongside MrBeast.

Moreover, in partnership with TikTok, the summit has instituted the inaugural Educators Award, aimed at fostering educational and edutainment content. Strategic partnerships have also emerged with YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, X, and Meta to promote impactful content initiatives.

2. AI in Content Production:

Collaborating with Google Gemini, the summit has inaugurated the AI Film Award, which includes a $1 million prize. This competition garnered over 30,000 submissions from 116 nations, with five selected films set to be showcased during the event. The winning entry will be disclosed on Day 2.

Supporting Creators and Startups

On the final day, the Creators Ventures Accelerator winners will be unveiled. Organized by Creators HQ in partnership with 500 Global, this initiative backs content creators and inventive startups, with winning ventures eligible for investment and support potentially worth up to AED 50 million.
This accelerator received 1,131 applications from over 70 countries.

Global Platforms and Distinguished Speakers

The summit will gather significant global platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Meta, Snapchat, X, Disney+, and Twitch to discuss the creator economy's future. Discussions will encompass topics like AI tools, analytics, intellectual property protection, misinformation, and fostering community connection.

Highlighted sessions include:

  • A Day 1 panel on the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness featuring MrBeast, Sunny Varkey, Saeed Al Eter, and Jeffrey Housenbold.

  • A discussion with comedian and creator Max Amini, followed by a live performance on Day 2.
