Dubai South, Emirates NBD Sign MoU to Boost SME Growth

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Dubai South has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates NBD to support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and improve access to banking services within the free zone.

The agreement was signed by Saif Al-Ali, Director of Licensing and Free Zone Management at Dubai Aviation City Corporation, and Hamad Mohamed Zayed, Group Head of Business Banking at Emirates NBD.

Under this partnership, Emirates NBD will provide simplified processes for opening corporate bank accounts and offer customized banking solutions to meet the changing needs of businesses operating in Dubai South.

The collaboration aims to make it easier for companies to access essential financial services quickly and efficiently. This step will further strengthen Dubai South’s position as a business-friendly hub and support entrepreneurs in managing and expanding their operations.

Nabil Al Kindi, Group CEO of Dubai South, said the partnership reflects the organization’s commitment to creating an integrated business ecosystem that helps SMEs grow, improve efficiency, and achieve long-term success. He added that easier access to banking services will allow businesses to focus more on growth and expansion.

Hamad Mohamed Zayed stated that Emirates NBD remains committed to supporting Dubai and the UAE’s economic development. He said the bank will deliver seamless and comprehensive banking solutions to SMEs and businesses operating in Dubai South, helping them meet their evolving requirements.

He also highlighted that this partnership supports Dubai’s vision to expand its economy by 2033 and strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading economic cities.

Dubai South is a large master-planned city built around an integrated aviation and logistics ecosystem. It is centered on Al Maktoum International Airport and offers strong connectivity across air, land, and sea, making it an important destination for business, living, and investment.
