Eid Holiday Sees 8.2 Million Public Transport Riders in Dubai

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced that a total of 8.2 million users relied on public transport and mobility services during the Eid Al-Adha holiday for 1447 AH / 2026.

These statistics cover the five-day festive period from May 25 to May 29, 2026, illustrating a significant demand for Dubai's comprehensive transport system.

Dominating the transport landscape, the Dubai Metro facilitated 3.3 million journeys during this holiday, while the Dubai Tram recorded usage by 114,300 riders.

Additionally, public buses accommodated 1.73 million passengers, while marine transport options registered 304,300 users.

Taxi services, provided by Dubai Taxi and partner companies, served 2.3 million riders, marking them as the second most utilized transport option during this period.

Moreover, shared mobility services, including app-based rentals and hourly service options, attracted 402,700 riders.

These figures clearly demonstrate the integral role that Dubai's public transport network plays, as millions of residents and visitors relied on various transport modes throughout the Eid Al-Adha celebrations.
