Sheikh Hamdan Reviews EAD Achievements & Future Plans

Post by : Bianca Haleem

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), chaired the agency’s board meeting to review key achievements, ongoing projects, and strategic plans for the coming years.

During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan praised the agency’s work in 2025, highlighting the successful completion of strategic initiatives aimed at promoting community health, preserving natural resources, and improving quality of life across Abu Dhabi.

The board reviewed the outcomes of EAD’s five-year plan (2021–2025), which achieved significant progress in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource management. Discussions also focused on the agency’s strategy for 2026–2030, which aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision for a resilient and sustainable environment supporting a greener global future.

The board also examined ongoing efforts for the Hamdan bin Zayed: The World’s Richest Seas initiative, a pioneering program to enhance marine biodiversity and sustainable fisheries. The initiative aims to make Abu Dhabi one of the regions with the highest marine density globally by 2030.

The meeting reinforced EAD’s commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and maintaining Abu Dhabi’s leadership in global environmental performance.
