East Bengal Triumphs 3-0 Against Odisha FC in ISL 2025-26

Post by : Shweta

In an exhilarating clash at Margao, Goa, East Bengal FC showcased their prowess with a decisive 3-0 win against Odisha FC in the Indian Super League 2025-26. This crucial triumph boosts East Bengal’s aspirations as they aim for the top positions in the league.

The Red and Gold Brigade displayed dominance from the start, exhibiting superior ball control, aggressive attacking strategies, and exceptional finishing. Key contributions came from Bipin Singh and a second-half brace by Youssef Ezzejjari, securing a comprehensive victory for the Kolkata side.

With this win, East Bengal ascends to fourth in the ISL standings, accumulating 18 points from nine matches, while Odisha FC remains at the lower end with just six points. Bipin Singh earned the Man of the Match accolade for his outstanding performance, which included one goal and an assist.

East Bengal started the match with fervor, threatening Odisha's defense early on. The breakthrough arrived in the 11th minute when PV Vishnu made an incisive run, delivering a low cross for Bipin Singh to slot home and give East Bengal a valuable early lead.

Following their initial goal, East Bengal maintained possession, creating multiple opportunities with swift passing and effective attacking movements. Vishnu’s presence on the wing, along with the midfield authority of Saúl Crespo and Nandhakumar, kept the pressure on.

Odisha FC struggled to gain momentum during the first half, relying heavily on counterattacks for scoring chances. Forward Rahim Ali occasionally posed a threat, but East Bengal goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill remained vigilant, thwarting any potential dangers, including a vital save just before halftime.

The second half mirrored the dominant play of East Bengal, as they continued to press forward while Odisha faltered in attacking plays. The pressure culminated in a second goal at the 70-minute mark, thanks to another swift delivery from PV Vishnu that led to confusion in the Odisha penalty area, allowing substitute Youssef Ezzejjari to score amidst defensive chaos.

East Bengal kept pushing for more and scored their third in the 84th minute. A well-placed pass from substitute Mawihmingthanga sent Bipin Singh racing down the wing, who then neatly cut back for Ezzejjari to net his second goal, sealing the match.

In the closing minutes, Odisha FC sought to respond but lacked the sharpness required. Their best chance came from captain Carlos Delgado, whose header narrowly missed the target. East Bengal’s defense remained solid, comfortably securing the clean sheet.

This victory provides East Bengal with significant momentum as their campaign progresses. The team’s attacking synergy has notably improved, leading to enhanced scoring opportunities.

Conversely, Odisha FC faces mounting challenges with their continued struggles near the bottom of the table. They now need to focus on refining their defensive structure and enhancing offensive capabilities in their upcoming matches.

East Bengal fans will be optimistic about the increasing confidence and attacking flair displayed by their team as they vie for playoff positions in the competitive ISL landscape.
