Emirates NBD has achieved the top rank in the first-ever Evident AI Index for Banks across the Middle East and Africa (MEA), underscoring its position as a pioneering bank in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) maturity and digital transformation.

The Evident AI Index serves as an independent and data-driven measurement tool, assessing AI maturity within the banking industry. This index evaluates leading banks based on four fundamental criteria: Talent, Innovation, Leadership, and Transparency.

Emirates NBD stood out among 25 of the largest banks from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Qatar, Kuwait, Morocco, Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. This notable achievement reflects the bank's robust AI strategy and its ability to weave artificial intelligence seamlessly into fundamental business operations.

This recognition is a testament to Emirates NBD’s sustained commitment to enhancing digital banking through AI-driven transformation. The bank has prioritized AI in its business strategy, customer engagement initiatives, and workforce development, aligning with the broader UAE vision for AI integration and digital innovation.

Shayne Nelson, Group Chief Executive Officer of Emirates NBD, remarked that this ranking highlights the bank's drive to lead in innovative, customer-centric banking solutions. He emphasized that Emirates NBD is embedding AI into its organizational culture to empower employees and streamline customer experiences. The bank will continue to invest in talent and innovative banking technologies to solidify its leadership in the region.

She highlighted the bank's impressive performance across areas such as Talent and Innovation while establishing a solid groundwork for continuous AI development. According to Evident, Emirates NBD boasts the most substantial AI talent pool among Middle Eastern banks, especially in areas like software implementation and product management. These strategic investments are enabling the bank to roll out and scale AI solutions effectively, including notable enhancements in HR functions.

This latest accolade further cements Emirates NBD's status as a leader in AI-enabled banking and emphasizes the increasing significance of artificial intelligence in transforming financial services throughout the Middle East and Africa.
