Second Fazza Falcons Racing Cup Telwah Set to Launch on January 12

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the second Fazza Falcons Racing Cup (Telwah) will commence on January 12 at the Lahbab Track, situated in the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center in Dubai.

This championship will feature a 400-metre racing distance, building upon the success of its inaugural edition last year, which saw significant participation, enhanced technical excellence, and fierce competition among skilled falconers.

Launched to honor the ongoing encouragement for falcon racing provided by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, the event serves to showcase leading falconers while offering a formidable competitive arena with substantial rewards.

Competitions in the Public Category (Owners – Open) will occur on January 12, while the Sheikh Category races are slated for January 17, including six rounds of thrilling action.

Falcons within the Farkh category, such as Jeer Shaheen, Jeer Tibah, Pure Jeer, and Qarmousha, that secure top three placements in the Symbol and Golden Burqa rounds, as well as first-place winners in the Cash rounds of the Fazza Championship for Falconry – Telwah, will earn eligibility for the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup.

The championship boasts a total prize pot of AED 2.8 million. Additionally, the top three Farkh category falcons from the Fazza Falcons Racing Cup will qualify for the final rounds of the Mohammed bin Rashid Falcons Cup.

His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary General of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing and the UAE Falcons Federation, noted that the championship has gained a robust reputation founded on the UAE’s rich traditions and heritage. He highlighted that the inaugural edition witnessed remarkable attendance and direct involvement from UAE leaders, illustrating their deep connection with falconers and sustained backing for falconry as a pivotal national sport.

Bin Markhan also mentioned that all pertinent championship rules, conditions, and updates are available through the official social media channels of the UAE Falcons Federation, ensuring transparency and timely communication for participants and stakeholders.
