Houthis Claim New Missile and Drone Attacks

Yemen's Houthi movement has claimed that it launched missiles and drones toward several targets in southern Saudi Arabia, marking another escalation in the growing conflict between the group and Saudi Arabia. Houthi-run media said the attacks targeted military, airport and energy facilities.According to Houthi media reports, the claimed targets included Abha International Airport, King Khalid Air Base and facilities belonging to Saudi oil giant Aramco in Abha and Jizan. The claims have been reported by multiple news organizations, although details of damage at individual targets remain subject to verification.

Saudi Arabia Reports 73 Civilian Injuries

The latest claims come after Saudi-led coalition officials reported that recent Houthi attacks on the Kingdom injured 73 civilians, including women and children. Saudi officials said attacks affected civilian and economic sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran.Saudi authorities have described the attacks as a dangerous escalation and said measures would be taken to confront the threat. Fires were also reported at some energy facilities following the attacks, while emergency teams responded to affected locations, according to Saudi authorities.

Oil Infrastructure Becomes a Major Concern

The reported targeting of Saudi energy infrastructure has raised fresh concerns about the security of one of the world's most important oil-producing regions. Any prolonged disruption to Saudi energy facilities could affect global oil markets and increase concerns about international energy supplies.Oil prices moved higher amid the latest regional tensions, with Brent crude approaching the $100-a-barrel level in Tuesday trading. Market concerns are being amplified by wider disruptions and security risks affecting energy and shipping routes across the Middle East.

Conflict Escalates Across the Region

The latest attacks come as fighting has intensified inside Yemen and tensions have increased across the wider Middle East. The Houthis have accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out strikes in Yemen, including an attack on a prison that the group said caused civilian casualties. The renewed violence is raising fears that the conflict could expand beyond Yemen's borders. The strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden, has also become a major focus of the fighting because of its importance to international shipping and energy transportation.
