Sharjah Hosts 21st International Education Show at Expo Centre

The 21st edition of the International Education Show opened at Expo Centre Sharjah, welcoming thousands of students and families. The event will run until October 11 and serves as one of the leading higher education exhibitions in the UAE and the region. Organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the show highlights the emirate’s growing role in promoting knowledge and innovation.

Wide Global Participation

This year’s edition brings together more than 100 leading universities and educational institutions from over 16 countries. These include top institutions from the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Hungary, the United States, Georgia, Malaysia, and India. The event is held in cooperation with the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and India’s Ministry of Education, ensuring a diverse and international academic experience for visitors.

Grand Opening Ceremony

The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Expo Centre Sharjah. He was joined by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, senior officials, education leaders, and international delegations. After the ribbon-cutting, guests toured the various pavilions and stands, meeting representatives from participating universities and exploring the wide range of educational programmes and training courses on display.

Platform for Students and Parents

The International Education Show is designed as a one-stop destination for students and parents seeking academic guidance. The exhibition provides an opportunity to explore study options in fields such as medicine, engineering, business, and other future-oriented specialisations. Representatives from participating universities are available to offer direct information on admission requirements, scholarships, and programme details.

Sharjah’s Vision for Knowledge Growth

During the opening ceremony, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais highlighted that the International Education Show aligns with Sharjah’s vision of advancing a knowledge-based economy. He said that education is a key driver of the emirate’s economic sustainability and competitiveness. By promoting high-quality education and supporting student success, the exhibition contributes to building a generation capable of leading future industries and supporting national development goals.

Strong Support from Local and International Institutions

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa stated that the exhibition is a proud annual initiative of Expo Centre Sharjah. He said it brings together leading universities and institutions under one roof, allowing students to make informed academic choices. He added that through collaboration with strategic partners, Expo Centre Sharjah has ensured the event remains a trusted platform for educational excellence and innovation.

Leading UAE Universities Participate

The exhibition features strong participation from leading UAE universities, including the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Khalifa University, Zayed University, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) - Abu Dhabi, the American University of Sharjah (AUS), the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), and the University of Sharjah. Each institution offers detailed information on admissions, scholarships, and academic programmes designed to prepare students for modern job markets.

Focus on Future Skills and Innovation

The 2025 edition highlights modern educational technologies and smart learning systems. Exhibitors are showcasing advanced EdTech solutions and innovative teaching models that aim to equip students with essential future skills. Visitors can also learn about postgraduate opportunities, professional courses, and scholarship options offered by premier global institutions.

Workshops and Career Guidance

In addition to exhibitions, the event features expert-led workshops and seminars. These sessions are conducted by prominent academics and career development professionals, helping students align their educational choices with job market trends. The goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world skills needed in the evolving global economy.

Dedicated Schedule for Visitors

To ensure smooth participation, the show has specific timings for different groups. Female students can visit on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while male students are scheduled for Thursday during the same hours. On Friday and Saturday, the exhibition is open to students and families from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., providing ample time for all visitors to explore the opportunities available.

With its growing global participation and commitment to educational excellence, the International Education Show continues to serve as a bridge between students and institutions worldwide. It reflects Sharjah’s vision of nurturing talent, encouraging innovation, and preparing youth for the challenges of tomorrow.
