Riyadh Meeting Focuses on Security Cooperation
Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi met Syrian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Mohsen Mahbash at the coalition’s headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the coalition and Syria in combating terrorism and extremism.The discussions also covered capacity building and the exchange of expertise. According to the Saudi Press Agency, both sides reviewed ways to develop cooperation that could support efforts against terrorism while improving institutional capabilities and coordination.

Four Areas of Counterterrorism Work
The meeting reviewed programs and initiatives carried out by the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition across four main areas. According to SPA, the fund is intended to translate national needs into practical programs that can help countries build capabilities and improve readiness.Al-Moghedi said the coalition was prepared to develop initiatives tailored to Syria’s priorities if the country joins. This could provide a framework for future cooperation in areas such as training, expertise exchange, counterterrorism awareness and institutional development.
