Jordan is seeking closer cooperation with China to support efforts toward a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and promote diplomatic approaches to regional challenges.
Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi made the comments during an interview with China Central Television while accompanying King Abdullah II on a visit to China. Safadi said the Palestinian issue remains at the centre of concerns in the Middle East.
Safadi praised China's stated support for a two-state solution and what he described as its support for a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue.
Jordan said it hopes China can play a greater role in international efforts aimed at advancing a political solution. The comments come as Amman and Beijing look to strengthen bilateral cooperation while discussing wider regional security and diplomatic issues.

Jordan has continued to place the Palestinian issue at the centre of its regional diplomatic efforts. Safadi stressed that resolving the conflict requires a political process capable of addressing the rights and security concerns of the people involved.
He said Jordan welcomes international support for a solution based on the establishment of two states and believes broader diplomatic engagement can contribute to regional stability.
Safadi said regional conflicts should be addressed through dialogue and diplomacy. However, he stressed that such efforts should be based on international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
He also highlighted principles including good-neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of states. Jordan considers these principles important to building a framework for greater regional security and stability.
Safadi expressed optimism about working with Beijing on regional issues. He said China has an important role to play in supporting efforts toward what Jordan describes as a just peace.
According to Safadi, a lasting political settlement should protect the rights of all parties while improving security and stability. Jordan also sees regional peace as important for creating conditions for stronger economic development.
Jordan's foreign minister connected diplomatic progress with broader economic opportunities in the Middle East. He said lasting peace and stability could allow countries and communities across the region to pursue greater economic development.
The Jordanian position also reflects Amman's effort to promote diplomacy as a means of addressing regional disputes. Cooperation with major international powers such as China could provide additional diplomatic support for these efforts.
The discussions during King Abdullah II's China visit highlight the growing importance of Jordan-China relations beyond traditional bilateral cooperation. The Palestinian issue and broader Middle Eastern stability are increasingly part of the diplomatic conversation.
Jordan hopes stronger cooperation with China can contribute to efforts toward a political settlement based on international law and the two-state framework. The issue is likely to remain a major focus of regional diplomacy as countries continue seeking pathways toward peace and stability.
