Bollywood’s beloved film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham has completed 24 years since its release, marking a major milestone for fans worldwide. To celebrate the occasion, actress Kajol shared a heartfelt message on social media for all the Anjalis, encouraging them to “keep being loud and proud,” while humorously noting that Rahul might be late due to traffic. Her post featured a still of her character Anjali along with a photograph of the film’s ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor, sharing a warm group hug.
Director Karan Johar also celebrated the anniversary by posting a video highlighting some of the most memorable moments from the film, commenting on the timeless impact of its story of family, love, and emotional bonds. Produced by Yash Johar under the Dharma Productions banner, the film tells the story of a wealthy Indian family and the estrangement that occurs when their adopted son Rahul, played by Shah Rukh Khan, marries a woman from a lower socio-economic background. The plot follows the younger son, Rohan, played by Hrithik Roshan, as he works to reunite the family.
Over the years, the film has become a cult classic, with its songs, dialogues, and characters deeply etched in the memories of generations. Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, who are celebrated for their on-screen chemistry, have delivered several blockbuster hits together, including the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which recently celebrated 30 years. To mark the 24th anniversary, Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan unveiled a bronze statue of their legendary characters, Raj and Simran, at Leicester Square in London, giving fans another way to cherish the film’s enduring legacy.
This milestone highlights not just the popularity of the movie, but also the lasting cultural impact of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, reminding fans of its timeless story of family, love, joy, and emotional depth that continues to resonate even after more than two decades.
