Kantara Chapter 1 continues to dominate cinemas as it enters its third week of release. Despite new films releasing every weekend, Rishab Shetty’s movie has managed to hold a strong grip on the audience’s attention. The film has earned around Rs 475 crore so far, becoming one of the top-grossing Indian films of 2025.

Massive Earnings Across India

Trade reports show that the film collected Rs 10 crore net on its second Tuesday, taking its total domestic earnings to Rs 475.90 crore. The movie recorded 24.19 percent occupancy in Kannada, 14 percent in Telugu, and 10.61 percent in Hindi. These figures prove that Kantara Chapter 1 has successfully reached audiences across different languages and regions.

A Cultural and Mythological Epic

Directed and written by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara. It is set during the Kadamba era in Karnataka, which was known as a golden period in Indian history. The film explores faith, culture, and mythology, highlighting the deep connection between humans and nature. This strong cultural base is what makes the movie stand out among commercial blockbusters.
