Khor Al Mamzar Beach Launches, Enhancing Dubai's Coastal Appeal

Post by : Bianca Haleem

The grand opening of Khor Al Mamzar Beach in Dubai marks a significant advancement in the city's premier beachfront locations. Initiated under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision, this development is a crucial part of the city’s initiative to elevate its infrastructure, aiming to establish Dubai as an ideal urban environment by 2040.

This beach, a pivotal phase in the Al Mamzar Beaches initiative led by Dubai Municipality, opens its doors to residents and tourists alike, enriching Dubai’s vibrant tourism scene.

The event was presided over by Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita and senior officials, complemented by entertainment and community programming.

Covering an expansive 2.75 million square feet, Khor Al Mamzar Beach presents a holistic experience with recreational, athletic, and relaxation options. The swimming area has expanded to 3.6 kilometres, showcasing a notable 128% increase. Additionally, a 300-metre night beach will be available round-the-clock for visitors.

A standout feature is the introduction of the region’s first floating walkway. The beach now boasts over 5.5 kilometres of tracks for walking, running, and cycling, alongside amenities like an outdoor fitness center, volleyball and padel courts, and water sports options including kayaking.

The sandy area has increased by 110%, stretching to 182,000 square metres. Public amenities have expanded by 400%, including 20 service points and eight recreational zones, with food and beverage options increasing to 19.

Safety has been prioritized with the addition of 12 lifeguard towers and 12 emergency call stations, ensuring a safe environment for all beachgoers.

The Dubai Municipality anticipates that the completed Al Mamzar Beaches project will draw up to 7 million visitors yearly. This development is part of a wider AED 3 billion beachfront project, encompassing ventures in Jumeirah and other coastal regions.

This initiative aligns with Dubai's long-term objectives, including the Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, focusing on better public spaces, promoting healthful living, and enhancing tourism.

Khor Al Mamzar Beach epitomizes Dubai’s ambition to create modern, accessible, and high-quality beachfront locations for a global audience.
