Kyrgyzstan Enhances Law Enforcement Facilities

Post by : Shakul

Kyrgyzstan is reinforcing its law enforcement framework, as observed by Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, during his inspection of the revamped facilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Bishkek.

This visit coincided with the celebrations for the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. Kasymaliev focused on the newly renovated infrastructures, reconstructed buildings, and advanced technical systems aimed at enhancing police and security services’ effectiveness nationwide.

A significant site on the itinerary was the “Shumkar” special purpose regiment, where extensive reconstruction has recently been finalized. The unit now features a newly constructed barracks, an indoor mini-football field, renovated offices, and a modernized gymnasium. Comprehensive repair work was carried out throughout the complex to elevate daily working and living standards for officers.

Kasymaliev mentioned that enhancing the facilities for law enforcement personnel plays a crucial role in ensuring better physical fitness, enhanced professional training, and improved operational effectiveness. Authorities believe that modern infrastructure will bolster morale and readiness amongst special police units.

The delegation further explored the upgraded Expert-Forensic Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where officials presented several advanced systems currently aiding criminal investigations. Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov reported that the forensic lab is now fitted with cutting-edge molecular genetic technology for precise forensic analyses.

Showcased technologies included the “POISK” automated ballistic system and the “Sonda” fingerprint identification system, both aimed at expediting criminal investigations and enhancing evidence analysis accuracy. Officials noted these advancements adhere to international standards, representing significant progress in Kyrgyzstan's law enforcement modernization.

Kasymaliev’s visit also included the Internal Affairs Department in Bishkek’s Sverdlovsk district, where major renovations were completed. Enhancements involved the upgrading of engineering systems, electrical networks, and lighting infrastructure to foster safer and more efficient work environments for police personnel.

Concluding his visit, Adylbek Kasymaliev underscored that bolstering technical capacities and infrastructures of law enforcement is crucial for public safety and building trust between citizens and police forces. He reiterated that modern law enforcement necessitates not just skilled officers, but also advanced equipment and effective working conditions.

The Kyrgyz government continues its commitment to improving security infrastructure as part of wider reforms aimed at modernizing state bodies and enhancing public services across the nation.
