The LRT3 Shah Alam Line in Malaysia is now fully completed and ready to commence passenger services. Spanning 37.8 kilometers from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, this rail line aims to greatly enhance public transportation within the Klang Valley.
Official Launch Announcement
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to launch the new rail line during a ceremony scheduled for June 28. During the event, he will reveal the official commercial opening date and the operational timetable for the new service.
Expansion with 20 New Stations
The LRT3 network incorporates 20 additional stations, including Bandar Utama, Kayu Ara, Glenmarie 2, Stadium Shah Alam, UiTM Shah Alam, Bandar Baru Klang, Pasar Klang, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, and Johan Setia. This new corridor is expected to benefit almost two million residents residing along the route.
Enhanced Connectivity for Klang Valley
Commuters will enjoy seamless connections to the Kajang Line at Bandar Utama and the Kelana Jaya Line at Glenmarie 2. This integration is projected to reduce travel times and improve overall connectivity in Malaysia's urban rail infrastructure.
Feeder Bus Services and Parking Amenities
The initiative is further supported by 40 feeder buses operating across 13 routes, featuring over 320 bus stops. Rapid On-Demand van services will function in 20 zones, while park-and-ride facilities providing approximately 2,300 parking spots are available at multiple key stations for commuter convenience.
Commitment to Sustainable and Accessible Transport
Prasarana has employed energy-efficient technologies like inverter-based air-conditioning and smart cooling systems to minimize electricity usage. Each station includes wheelchair ramps, accessible toilets, and reserved seating, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers with disabilities.
