Madinah Governor Emphasizes Reliable Religious Guidance

Madinah Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz has stressed the importance of reliable religious guidance and moderation during a scholarly meeting held in Madinah. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s religious significance as the Qibla of Muslims and the birthplace of Islam, while emphasizing the Kingdom’s role in providing trusted religious guidance.

Fatwas Based on Quran and Sunnah

Prince Salman said that fatwas issued by Saudi scholars are based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, following what he described as a moderate and balanced approach. According to the report, this approach is intended to contribute to unity among Muslims and encourage balanced religious understanding.

Importance of Qualified Islamic Scholars

The governor also highlighted the role of the Madinah branch of the General Presidency of Islamic Research and Ifta. He said the institution has an important responsibility in explaining Shariah rulings and responding to questions about fatwas through specialized and highly qualified scholars.

The remarks were delivered during a scholarly meeting organized by the Madinah branch of the General Presidency of Islamic Research and Ifta, with several scholars in attendance.
