India’s Smriti Mandhana has returned to the number one position in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, taking the top spot from South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt. Mandhana’s consistent performance has earned her this position, even though her rating of 811 points remained the same this week. Wolvaardt, despite her team winning against Ireland, dropped from 814 points to 806 after scoring 31 in the match.
South Africa had a strong start in their series against Ireland, winning the first match by seven wickets in East London. Sune Luus and Miane Smit played key roles with half-centuries to chase the target of 210 runs in just 37 overs. Following this match, Luus moved up five places to joint 31st in the ODI batter rankings and rose ten places to 33rd in the all-rounders’ list.
Ireland also saw improvements in the rankings. Orla Prendergast climbed one spot to 10th in all-rounders, and Laura Delany rose three places to 16th. Prendergast also advanced two places to 34th among ODI bowlers after taking 1/34 in the game. Other teammates, including Arlene Kelly, Cara Murray, and Laura Delany, also gained positions in the bowling list.
South African seamer Tumi Sekhukhune took two wickets in the opener against Ireland, moving up seven places to 78th in the ODI bowling rankings. The latest rankings show strong competition among women cricketers from India, South Africa, and Ireland, highlighting their impressive performances on the field.
