UAE Packs 10 Million Meals for Gaza Through Humanitarian Drive

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) successfully packed over 10 million meals for the people of Gaza. These meals will be sent via the Mohammed Bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, a UAE initiative to provide urgent support to Palestinians.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has been among the first countries to provide relief to Gaza. He praised the overwhelming response from the community, with more than 20,000 volunteers participating in the project, far exceeding the initial plan for 2,000 volunteers.

The meal packing event was held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City, and attracted widespread community participation. Sheikh Mohammed toured the venue, met with volunteers, and commended their dedication, stating that this effort reflects the UAE’s values of generosity, solidarity, and steadfast support for the Palestinian people.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary-General of MBRGI, noted that sending over 10 million meals builds on the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in Gaza. He praised the community for showing deep compassion, solidarity, and dedication during challenging times for Palestinians.

MBRGI, the region’s largest foundation of its kind, spent over AED 2.2 billion in 2024, benefiting approximately 149 million people in 118 countries. The foundation operates under five main pillars: Humanitarian Aid & Relief, Healthcare & Disease Control, Spreading Education & Knowledge, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Empowering Communities.

Launched in 2015, MBRGI unites more than 30 initiatives and institutions. It focuses on addressing global challenges, supporting vulnerable communities, and investing in human capital. The Gaza humanitarian drive demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to global solidarity and providing meaningful support to people in need.
