Malaysian professional wrestler Miles Karu is on the brink of an exciting chapter in his career as he prepares for a significant three-month tour in Japan with the prestigious DDT Pro-Wrestling organization. Known as “The Lyrical Lightning,” Miles will not only represent Malaysia but also the vibrant Southeast Asian wrestling community on a global platform. This tour underscores the rising recognition of local talent within the international wrestling arena.
Since stepping into the professional wrestling world in 2019, Miles has steadily charted a course towards success. With years of training and participation in regional matches, he has emerged as a prominent figure in Malaysian Pro Wrestling. His journey has taken him across Southeast Asia, competing in countries like Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. His dedication has garnered respect and paved the way for international prospects.
A major turning point in Miles' career arrived in 2024, when he and his tag team partner, The Wonderboy, became the first Malaysian duo to clinch the SPW Southeast Asia Tag Team Championships. Recently, Miles secured the Southeast Asia Championship by defeating Shivam at the New Breed 4 event, solidifying his status as one of the top professional wrestlers in the region and setting the stage for his international debut.
Reflecting on his upcoming Japan tour, Miles expressed that wrestling in Japan has long been a dream of his, fueled by his admiration for the nation's wrestling culture. Despite initial doubts about the feasibility of such an opportunity, the confirmed tour has reignited his excitement to represent Southeast Asian wrestling and introduce the Southeast Asia Championship to Japanese fans.
While in Japan, Miles will call Tokyo home and will participate in matches from mid-May through mid-August. His debut match is slated for May 16 at Radiant Hall in Yokohama during the NihaoDramatic Dream Tournament 2026, where he teams with Yukio Naya and Seiki Inaba in a six-man tag match against Kazuma Sumi, Daichi Sato, and Akito. Wrestling enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating this tour as it represents a significant milestone for a Malaysian wrestler competing in a renowned wrestling landscape.
Miles also mentioned several esteemed Japanese wrestlers he aspires to face, including Chris Brookes, Kazuki Hirata, MAO, Takeshi Masada, and the legendary Minoru Suzuki. He hopes his performance will resonate with Japanese audiences and deepen their understanding of Malaysian Pro Wrestling and the broader Southeast Asian wrestling scene. For Miles, this tour transcends personal achievement; it is a chance to amplify the international recognition of regional wrestling.
He urged emerging wrestlers to stay committed to honing their skills, regardless of their current level of success. Emphasizing discipline, effort, and the importance of gaining experience through diverse competitions, Miles believes that interaction with talented wrestlers across the region has been instrumental in his own growth. His tour in Japan is not merely a personal milestone, but also a proud moment for Malaysia’s wrestling community, reflecting the global emergence of Southeast Asian wrestling talent.
