Delhi Police successfully prevented a planned attack on stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. Intelligence revealed that gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar, currently overseas, had instructed two shooters to target the 33-year-old entertainer. The plot was linked to Faruqui’s controversial jokes on Hindu deities.
Trap and Arrest Operation
Police received information that two suspects, Rahul and Sahil, accused in a Haryana triple murder case, were in Delhi. Officers set up a trap around 3 am. When the shooters, riding a motorcycle, refused to stop and fired at the police, the officers returned fire, injuring their legs and taking them into custody.

During questioning, authorities learned that the shooters had conducted prior surveillance on Faruqui in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Last year, Mumbai Police also detained him during a raid at an illegal hookah bar, and he was released on bail.
