AED 527M Contract for Island B Infrastructure at Dubai Islands

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Nakheel, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has contracted Al Nasr Contracting Company for an impressive AED 527 million project aimed at bolstering infrastructure and utility systems on Island B within Dubai Islands.

This initiative focuses on establishing vital infrastructure that will support upcoming residential, hospitality, and mixed-use development projects. The work encompasses a range of tasks including construction of roads, paving, water supply systems, electrical and telecom networks, as well as drainage and sewage systems, aligning with the district cooling network. Coordination with the infrastructure on Island A will also be essential.

The planned developments will incorporate modern, sustainable systems to facilitate long-term growth and guarantee dependable services across the island.

This significant contract represents a crucial advancement in the overall development of Dubai Islands, demonstrating a commitment to investment as part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, emphasized that this project indicates consistent progress in the transformation of Dubai Islands into a comprehensive destination aimed at supporting population growth, tourism, and economic development.

Covering 18.6 square kilometers, Dubai Islands consists of five interconnected islands and will feature approximately 57 kilometers of coastline alongside 21 kilometers of beaches. The intention is to accommodate over 231,000 residents within around 49,000 housing units, inclusive of villas, mansions, and apartments, alongside resorts, marinas, retail spaces, and leisure avenues.

As a vital component of the masterplan, Island B necessitates robust infrastructure to facilitate future construction and operations.

Jean Nicolas El Helou, CEO of Al Nasr Contracting Company, stated that the company is devoted to delivering high-quality infrastructure that aligns with Dubai's growth trajectory.

Three bridges connecting Dubai Islands to the mainland via the Al Shindagha Corridor will enhance accessibility. The development is conveniently situated within 10 kilometers of Dubai International Airport and 15 kilometers from Downtown Dubai, further improving city connectivity.
