Oman Denounces Attack on Kuwait, Advocates for Regional Harmony

Post by : Shakul

Oman has decisively denounced the recent attack targeting Kuwait, affirming its steadfast support for the nation's security and stability. This statement captures Oman’s enduring diplomatic commitment to peaceful coexistence in the Gulf region.

In an official communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Muscat, Oman labeled the incident as a serious threat to regional peace and security. The Sultanate reiterated that military provocations undermine the safety of nations and endanger civilian lives and infrastructure.

Oman firmly rejected any actions that compromise the sovereignty of states or jeopardize their territorial integrity. The statement highlighted the necessity of respecting international law and fostering good neighborly relations for sustainable peace in the region.

Furthermore, Oman expressed heartfelt solidarity with Kuwait and its citizens in these challenging times, supporting measures taken by Kuwait to ensure its security and internal stability. The importance of unity among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations in addressing regional issues was also underscored.

Oman urged all parties involved in the ongoing tensions to practice maximum restraint and to avoid actions that could escalate the situation. The statement warned against further escalation, which could widen the cycle of confrontation and disrupt economic growth and humanitarian conditions.

Additionally, the statement called on the international community and regional stakeholders to enhance diplomatic initiatives aimed at de-escalation. Oman emphasized the importance of dialogue, negotiation, and diplomatic relations as the only sustainable and effective means to resolve disputes and avert further conflicts in the Gulf and the wider Middle East.

Reaffirming its long-established foreign policy principles, Oman highlighted its commitment to peacebuilding and regional stability. Historically, the Sultanate has maintained a balanced diplomatic approach, advocating for peaceful resolutions and opposing interference or aggression in the affairs of other states.

In conclusion, Oman reiterated that Kuwait's security is integral to the overall security of the Gulf, asserting that a threat to one nation poses a threat to all. The country expressed its hope that wisdom and diplomacy will prevail, fostering stability and prosperity for all people in the region.
