Oman Launches First Private Vehicle Inspection Center

Oman Launches First Private Vehicle Inspection Center

Post by : Shakul

The Sultanate of Oman is preparing to launch its first privately operated vehicle technical inspection center under the new brand name "Tajdeed" on June 16. The facility will begin operations at the headquarters of the Oman Automobile Association in Muscat after receiving official accreditation from the Royal Oman Police. The initiative represents a significant development in the country's transportation sector and reflects Oman’s efforts to improve public services through private sector participation.

Partnership Between Al Maha And Royal Oman Police

The new center has been established through a strategic partnership between Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company and the Royal Oman Police. The collaboration aims to provide advanced technical inspection services that meet the highest standards of safety, quality and operational efficiency. Authorities believe the initiative will strengthen the vehicle inspection system while ensuring motorists receive faster and more convenient services.

Introducing The Tajdeed Brand

According to Engineer Hamad bin Salem Al-Maghdari, Chairman of the Partners Association and Managing Director of the company, the launch of the Tajdeed brand reflects a modern vision for vehicle inspection services in Oman. He stated that the company seeks to provide a reliable and customer-focused experience that aligns with the rapid growth of the transportation and technical services sectors.

Al-Maghdari explained that the new center is designed to simplify inspection procedures while maintaining strict compliance with approved technical standards. The facility is expected to reduce waiting times and improve service accessibility for vehicle owners.

Enhancing Road Safety Across Oman

One of the key objectives behind the project is to improve road safety by ensuring that vehicles operating on Omani roads meet all required technical and safety standards. Technical inspections play a crucial role in identifying mechanical faults, emissions issues and safety risks that could contribute to traffic accidents.

Officials said the new inspection system will support national road safety goals while helping authorities maintain high levels of compliance among vehicle owners. By introducing advanced inspection technologies and professional service standards, the center aims to contribute to safer roads across the Sultanate.

Expansion Plans Across Governorates

The Muscat facility is only the first step in a broader expansion strategy. Al Maha Technical Inspection Company has announced plans to establish additional vehicle inspection centers across various governorates in Oman. The company intends to expand its network to ensure customers in different regions can access services without travelling long distances.

This expansion is expected to increase convenience for vehicle owners while supporting the government's objective of improving service coverage throughout the country. New branches will also help manage growing demand for inspection services as the number of vehicles on Omani roads continues to rise.

Supporting Economic Growth And Private Sector Participation

The launch of the Tajdeed center also highlights Oman’s commitment to encouraging private sector investment in essential services. By allowing private companies to participate in technical inspection activities, authorities hope to improve efficiency, encourage innovation and create new business opportunities.

Industry observers believe the move could serve as a model for future partnerships between government entities and private companies in other sectors. The project aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which places strong emphasis on economic diversification and private sector-led growth.

A Modern Future For Vehicle Services

With the opening of the Tajdeed center, Oman is entering a new phase in the development of vehicle inspection services. The initiative combines government oversight with private sector expertise to create a modern, efficient and customer-friendly inspection system.

As additional centers open across the country, motorists are expected to benefit from improved service quality, greater accessibility and enhanced safety standards. The project is seen as an important milestone in supporting sustainable transportation and strengthening confidence in Oman’s road safety infrastructure.
