Pakistan Guarantees Security for Upcoming US-Iran Peace Talks

Pakistan Guarantees Security for Upcoming US-Iran Peace Talks

Post by : Shakul

In preparation for the significant discussions between the United States and Iran set to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan has promised robust security measures. This meeting follows a temporary ceasefire between the two countries.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed to US Ambassador Natalie Baker that comprehensive security protocols have been established for all visiting dignitaries.

These negotiations come after a two-week ceasefire halted hostilities that reignited in late February. Pakistan has emerged as a vital mediator, facilitating communication and pushing for de-escalation.

Extensive security measures have been enforced throughout Islamabad. The Red Zone is cordoned off, influential routes like Faisal Avenue are restricted, and specific VVIP protocols are in place for official delegations.

Traffic diversions have been implemented, with some access points to the city closed. Law enforcement, emergency services, and hospitals are on high alert to prepare for any eventuality.

A contingent of 30 US officials has already measured the arrangements, while accommodations in high-security zones have been cleared for official use. Local holidays were declared in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to curb public movement.

These upcoming talks are anticipated to be pivotal in addressing ongoing tensions, with Pakistan continuing its efforts to foster peace, stability, and dialogue in the region.
