Doha: Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, spoke via phone on Friday with Peru's Foreign Minister, Hugo de Zela, regarding important regional developments.
Their conversation highlighted the situation surrounding the ceasefire reached between the United States and Iran, as well as other significant topics of mutual concern.
Al Muraikhi emphasized Qatar's unwavering support for the ceasefire, calling it a vital move towards reducing regional tensions. He pointed out the critical need to leverage this agreement to avert any additional instability.
He also stressed the necessity of protecting maritime corridors, ensuring navigation freedom, and securing international trade through established legal frameworks, asserting that these actions are key to sustaining regional stability and global supply chains.
In response, Peru's Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela conveyed his country's supportive stance toward Qatar amidst the ongoing regional climate, reaffirming Peru's commitment to promoting peace, stability, and international collaboration.
