Six Killed After Two Helicopters Collide Near Rio de Janeiro

Post by : Shakul

A tragic aviation accident claimed six lives after two helicopters collided in mid-air west of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 15. Emergency authorities confirmed that all six occupants involved in the crash died as rescue teams rushed to the scene following reports of the collision.

According to Rio de Janeiro’s Military Fire Department, one of the helicopters lost control after the impact and crashed into the parking area of a car dealership. The crash caused significant damage and sparked a fire among several electric vehicles parked at the location.

Firefighters responded quickly and managed to contain the flames before the fire could spread further. Emergency crews secured the area and began search and recovery operations shortly after the incident.

Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising from the crash site moments after the helicopters collided in the air. The accident drew a large emergency response as authorities worked to ensure public safety and assess the extent of the damage.

Officials have not yet released details about the identities of the victims or the flight routes of the helicopters. Authorities are focusing on gathering evidence and examining flight records to understand what led to the deadly collision.

Aviation investigators have launched a formal inquiry into the incident. Experts are expected to analyze communication records, weather conditions, and technical data from both aircraft as part of the investigation.

The crash has raised concerns about air traffic safety in the region. Authorities said a full report will be prepared once investigators complete their findings and determine the exact cause of the accident.
