UAE Prepares for Unstable Weather and Heavy Rainfall

Post by : Mariam Al-Faris

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), in coordination with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the Ministry of Interior (MoI), and other partners, is closely monitoring the weather forecasts for the coming days. Officials have confirmed that unstable weather conditions are expected to affect the country starting Friday and may continue until the middle of next week.

Regions to Be Affected

The northern, eastern, and western regions of the UAE, along with some inland areas, are expected to experience convective cloud formations. These clouds may bring rainfall of varying intensity and strong winds. Such winds can cause flying debris and reduce horizontal visibility due to downdrafts linked to the convective clouds.

Impact on Sea Conditions

The sea is also expected to be rough during this period. Wave heights in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are likely to increase during periods of cloud activity. Maritime authorities have been alerted to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of vessels and marine activities.

Authorities Fully Prepared

NCEMA confirmed that all relevant federal and local authorities are fully prepared to manage any developments caused by the weather. Teams are in continuous coordination, monitoring updates closely, and ready to respond to emergencies, ensuring public safety across all affected areas.

Public Safety Measures

NCEMA strongly urges the public to stay updated by following the warnings and alerts issued by the NCM through official channels. Citizens and residents should avoid waterlogged areas during heavy rainfall and exercise caution when traveling or venturing outdoors. Taking preventive measures is essential to avoid accidents or injuries.

Authorities continue to maintain close communication between federal and local agencies to ensure timely responses to any emergency situations. Public awareness campaigns and safety advisories will be issued as needed to help residents prepare for changing weather conditions.

With the unstable weather expected in the coming days, the authorities emphasize preparedness and caution. The public is advised to follow official updates, avoid risky areas, and prioritize safety during rainfall, strong winds, and rough sea conditions.
