Saudi Arabia Condemns Deadly Tanker Attack
Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned what it described as an Iranian attack on a Saudi tanker that killed two Filipino crew members. The tanker, identified as the Sidra, was crossing the Strait of Hormuz late Monday when it was struck.
The incident has added another dangerous dimension to the escalating conflict involving Iran, the United States and several countries across the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important maritime routes for energy shipments, making any attack involving commercial vessels a major international concern.
Riyadh Calls for De-escalation
Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry also condemned Iranian attacks on other Middle Eastern states following US strikes against Iran. Riyadh called on all sides to avoid further escalation and return to diplomatic efforts.
The ministry said the Kingdom wants the parties involved to calm the situation, respect international law and pursue negotiations and peaceful solutions. The appeal comes as military exchanges continue to raise concerns about regional stability and international shipping.
US Strikes Target Iranian Military Infrastructure
The latest escalation followed US attacks on Iranian air-defense systems, radar installations, maritime assets, mine-laying capabilities and communications sites. The strikes marked another major phase in the conflict and were followed by Iranian attacks against US-linked assets across the region.
According to the information provided, at least 12 people were killed in the latest violence, including a four-year-old child at a wedding in Sirik. The civilian deaths have further intensified international concern over the human cost of the conflict.

Bessent argued that cutting external support could help bring the conflict to an end more quickly. His comments indicate that the US response is extending beyond military action and into international economic and diplomatic pressure.
