The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has successfully wrapped up significant maintenance and upgrades on the Dubai Metro's tunnel infrastructure. This initiative is part of RTA's commitment to enhance operational safety and ensure the longevity of public transport services.
Executed under RTA's proactive strategy, these maintenance works reinforce the metro network's ability to function safely and efficiently. The authority emphasizes that this project aligns with its vision of operational excellence, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and modern engineering practices.
The undertaken maintenance programs involved regular inspections, specialized cleaning efforts, technical repairs, and systematic asset upgrades to enhance the metro infrastructure's lifespan.
In the past year, RTA executed 51 detailed tunnel inspections guided by meticulously planned processes, leading to the successful completion of 873 maintenance tasks at exemplary standards.
Remarkably, RTA met all its preventive and corrective maintenance objectives, underscoring its dedication to maintaining passenger safety, sustainable infrastructure, and superior transport services.
The rehabilitation program included routine cleaning measures that utilized both manual and high-pressure washing techniques, effectively removing dust and debris that could potentially hinder safety and system performance.
All maintenance activities were conducted in full compliance with international rail standards and best practices. Furthermore, RTA is committed to enhancing the skills of its specialized teams through ongoing training to keep pace with technological advancements and safety standards.
The completion of these upgrades is anticipated to significantly improve the reliability and sustainability of the Dubai Metro tunnel infrastructure, supporting the expansion of Dubai’s public transport network.
