Rwanda Celebrates National Day with UAE, Eyes Investment

Recently in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an important and joyful event took place. The occasion was the National Day of Rwanda, a celebration that marks the country's independence and achievements over the years. This event brought together people from different countries, cultures, and communities, highlighting Rwanda’s deep connection with the UAE.

The event was hosted by John Mirenge, the Ambassador of Rwanda to the UAE, at the beautiful Grand Hyatt Hotel in Abu Dhabi. It was a grand evening where guests enjoyed the Rwandan spirit, culture, and hospitality.

One of the prominent guests at the event was Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, the UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations. His presence showed how important the relationship between the UAE and Rwanda has become.

In addition to Mr. Al Shamsi, there were many other important people who attended the event. These included ambassadors, diplomats, and representatives from Arab and foreign countries, along with members of the Rwandan community living in the UAE. Their presence made the event truly global and festive.

A Message from Rwanda to the UAE

During the celebration, Ambassador John Mirenge gave a speech. His words were filled with gratitude, hope, and a strong sense of friendship between the two nations. He spoke with pride about the good and growing relationship between Rwanda and the UAE.

He explained how the UAE has become a very important partner for Rwanda, especially in business. According to him, the UAE is now Rwanda’s biggest trading partner in the world. This means that Rwanda sells more goods to the UAE and buys more goods from the UAE than any other country.

Ambassador Mirenge also praised how both countries have worked together over the years to build a strong partnership. He said that their bond is not just about trade, but also about shared values, friendship, and mutual respect.

A Call for More Investments

One of the most important messages in the ambassador’s speech was a call to Emirati companies and investors. He encouraged them to look at the many opportunities that Rwanda offers. From business and agriculture to tourism and technology, Rwanda is open to new partnerships and investments.

He invited Emirati business leaders to visit Rwanda and explore how they can become part of its growth story. He said that Rwanda is a safe, stable, and growing country in Africa and that investors can benefit greatly from putting their money and ideas into the Rwandan economy.

By saying this, the ambassador showed that Rwanda is not only looking for friendship with the UAE but also wants to build a strong economic bridge between the two countries.
