Strong winds and blowing dust are expected to continue across several regions of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, according to the National Center for Meteorology. Areas likely to be affected include Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders region, and the Eastern Province, where reduced visibility and dusty conditions may impact daily activities.
Weather experts said gusty winds could raise large amounts of dust and sand, creating challenging conditions for motorists, particularly on highways and open roads. Residents have been advised to remain cautious and follow weather updates throughout the day.
The forecast also indicates the possibility of thundercloud formation over parts of the western and southwestern highlands. These clouds may be accompanied by strong winds and localized rainfall, bringing unstable weather conditions to elevated areas.
In the Red Sea, winds are expected to blow from the northwest to north at speeds ranging between 20 and 45 kilometers per hour in the northern and central regions. Southern areas will experience northwesterly to westerly winds with speeds between 10 and 28 kilometers per hour.
Wave heights in the Red Sea are forecast to range from half a meter to two meters, with sea conditions remaining slight to moderate. Maritime authorities have advised boat operators to remain alert during periods of stronger winds.
Meanwhile, the Arabian Gulf is expected to witness northwesterly to northerly winds in its northern and central sectors at speeds between 15 and 38 kilometers per hour. In the southern part of the Gulf, winds will initially be southerly to southeasterly before shifting to westerly and northwesterly directions later in the day.
Wave heights in the Arabian Gulf are expected to range from half a meter to one and a half meters. Meteorologists said sea conditions will remain slight to moderate but urged residents, fishermen, and maritime operators to stay informed about changing weather conditions and follow all safety guidance issued by authorities.
