Eutelsat names Sébastien Rouge as chief financial officer from February 2026

Post by : Bianca Haleem

Eutelsat, the French satellite operator, has announced the appointment of Sébastien Rouge as its new chief financial officer. Rouge, who currently leads finance at mining group Imerys and previously served as CFO at semiconductor materials company Soitec, will take up the role in February 2026.

He replaces Christophe Caudrelier, who is leaving after three years as CFO. Caudrelier’s term covered a period of intense industry pressure, including stronger competition, major technology upgrades and shifting market requirements for satellite services.

Rouge brings a solid record in corporate finance and operational oversight from sectors that manage complex global operations and capital-intensive projects. Analysts say his background could help Eutelsat refine its capital structure and secure funding for upcoming satellite programmes.

The move comes as the satellite sector undergoes rapid change driven by surging data demand, expanding digital infrastructure and new entrants. Eutelsat’s selection of a finance leader with cross-sector experience signals an emphasis on disciplined financial planning to support growth.

Observers expect Rouge to emphasise agility in financial strategy, aiming to balance cost control with targeted investment in innovation. His experience in dynamic, investment-heavy industries is seen as relevant to guiding Eutelsat through its next growth phase.
